Rarely ever do I wear mainly black, however this dress has convinced me otherwise and shown me the light- LBD's really should be a staple in every girl's closet. I know, this is not a novel idea for most, however in my wardrobe colors have been so prominent that I've forgotten about this classic. Next on my list is most definitely a beautiful embroidered or intricate lace black dress. Excited to explore the options!
Anyways, I hope you all are having a fabulous day.
There is nothing that competes with vintage clothing, other than vintage housewares and knick-knacks of course! One of my absolute favorite thing to do is to hit up the flea markets in search of special little pieces to surround myself by. The hunt can at times be a difficult one, which is why I was so impressed with this shop pictured above, Funtiques, a store in Springfield, Missouri. It was such a delight sifting through all the vintage goodies that filled the shop, as inspiration filled my thoughts. Exploring the abundant treasures from decades past was an absolute treat. If any of you happen to be in that area, I definitely suggest you stop by.

A floral top with a floral backdrop... definitely an ideal photo for me. I was practically obsessed with these crepe myrtle trees outside of the lake house. It was such a beautiful site to wake up to on those relaxing days. I am now back in Texas for the first time in half a year, and I must say it's good to be back! Enjoying every minute of it, because less than a week I will be back to NYC and before you know it the fashion week madness will begin. Life is good, and I really cannot complain.
Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday!

I am making an FAQ page and I need your help! Sometimes a few questions that I
am asked slips through the cracks and just never gets answered. It's simply not acceptable
that I let that happen, so to make it up to you I am going to make a FAQ video and page
telling all. So ask away and I will get to working on this little project!
Hope you all are having a lovely day.

Everyone needs a vacation from time to time. Living in New York City, I decided to take mine at the beautiful lake with my lovely boyfriend. Nothing beats the peacefulness of nature and I think that this was the exact thing that I needed. We loved spending time on the water, especially watching sunsets on the dock. On this evening we stayed until dark just chatting and enjoying the beauty around us. I was a bit too frightened to go for a midnight swim (something about not being able to see whats in the water), but I at least was brave enough to dip my feet in. Who knows though, maybe next time I will toughen up. I definitely see more escapes like this in my future!
Anyways, next stop on my little southern road trip is Arkansas and then Texas. Cannot wait to see family and old friends. Hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday!

I am absolutely loving BB Dakota's fall line right now. Filled with playful prints, southwest-inspired leather jackets, and plenty of season transitional items. I had the opportunity to style a few of lovely pieces from the collection the other day. Cannot wait to wear these babies in the upcoming fall months.
Anywho, as you can tell I am completely smitten with BB Dakota, so I am beyond excited to present to you all the chance to win a $500 BB Dakota giftcard. A few other bloggers and I are participating in a Pinterest contest where the blogger's board with the most re-pins get's to select one of their readers for the gift card!
For a chance to win, re-pin any photo on my board here. Good luck to all!

I am already completely certain what my staple piece will be this Fall: the moto jacket. I have already acquired a few different ones various colors and fabrics like denim and leather and cannot wait to layer them with chunky knit scarves, femme dresses, tights and boots. Can you tell I am excited for the season to arrive? Here I paired it with this girly dress and lovely bag by Botkier. I am obsessed with this mustard/gold hardware combination. It has been my go-to when looking for a pop of color!
Anyways, I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday and have a great weekend!

It is no suprise that I am obsessed with pastel color-blocking. So of course a blouse that already came this way was a must to add to my closet. I have been having a lot of fun pairing it my vast collection of pastel denim.
Anyways, this post has to be short and sweet because it is my parents last day visiting the city and because I am getting ready for a little trip to my home down south. My flight is tomorrow and I could not be more excited! Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

There is nothing I love more than some relaxing online retail therapy. Nothing beats jamming out to some music at home while perusing the web for some new digs in the comfort of my own home. With that being said, I must tell you all about my new obsession, Lyst. I have had my eye on this website for quite some time now, so I decided to check it out and of course instantly became addicted. The site allows you to easily browse clothing by their endless list of brands and designers, with a detailed search toolbar allowing you to find exactly what you want. Also after using Lyst for a bit, your clothing feed becomes personalized to your specific taste and style. Which of course is how my Fall lust lyst came to life below. And above all, you get instant sale alerts about the items on your Lyst. I have basically been having a blast dreaming and planning my Fall wardrobe.
Check out my Lyst profile here and tell me what you think about my picks! I am quite positive that you will become just as addicted as I am.

There is something about the light in our apartment past six o'clock. Everything has a warm glow and everything becomes slightly more beautiful. Sometimes I just can't help but get inspired and take advantage of the time and take photos around my apartment. Despite the fact that at times it can be unbearably hot in the place, I completely love the giant windows that make this light possible. It's the simple things in life that make me happy. Similar to the little flamingos on my dress and the heart cut-out. Yes, it is the little things.
