I'm so excited to announce an exciting partnership for an amazing cause with DoSomething.org and U by Kotex , bringing you the Power to The Period donation drive!
There is an issue that deserves much more awareness and that I feel very passionate about... While most of us have access to countless feminine products, not all of us are so lucky. The facts stat that actually many of the 3.5 million homeless Americans who, each year, have limited access and few places to turn for feminine products. That’s why when Holly Sanchez tweeted about this very topic, DoSomething.org and U by Kotex teamed up with Holly to create the Power to the Period drive and encourage others to buy and donate extra period products to homeless shelters.
If you’re interested in joining the Period Project, here are some ways you can get involved:
- Start a Power to the Period donation drive in your school or community
- Donate new, unopened boxes of period products to a drive in your area until Friday, September 30, 2016.
- Visit UbyKotex.com , DoSomething.org/Period or text PERIOD to 38383 for more info on getting involved.
- Join the online conversation with #PeriodProjects
*Please only donate unopened packages of period products, as opposed to individually wrapped items to ensure hygiene and intact instructions on the box.
