Oh my have I been fancying summer life in the city. The streets are basically like an endless playground and I cannot get enough of discovering new spots. Here Justin and I hit up the Chelsea Market in Hell's Kitchen for amazing vintage trinkets and clothing. If you are ever in NYC I definitely suggest you hit it up. For blocks and blocks there are booths full of treasures.
Dancing In The Streets
06 June 2012
Sometimes you just have to dance in the streets, David Bowie/Mick Jagger style. No joke, sometimes my friends and I walk around the city blasting tunes from our phones and essentially having a dance party in the streets. Life is no fun without everyday silliness. Anyways, some days have been so excruciatingly hot in the city, that I cannot dream of wearing anything else besides a tank and shorts. Boring maybe, but absolutely essential. I totally rely on accessories to amp up simple looks like these, so I turned to my bright yellow satchel and fave sunnies. Oh and not to mention my obnoxious Dr. Marten oxfords. Yes they have been referred to as 'clown shoes', but I don't care, I love their ugliness !
Anyways, hope you all are having a fantastic week so far.
Music I love // Swear & Shake
05 June 2012
One of my favorite NYC-based bands to see live is Swear and Shake. Saw them the other night at the Sleep No More after show and they totally killed it. They always put on a good one and amongst my favorite songs are "Marbles" and "These White Walls". They are always playing shows in the area, so if you are around you should totally check them out! ❤❤
With a Little Help From My Friends
04 June 2012
Little makes me happier than evening like this in the city. Meeting up with my friends after everyone gets off work and just strolling around the city going to some party or another. Seriously I always have a good time with these lovely folks. Thankful to have such amazing people in my life, amongst that are these smiling faces from Claire, Justin, and Nadia! Makes life all that much better. Anyways, I have been a little bit obsessed with these Jeffrey Campbell booties from an NYC-based boutique called I Don't Like Mondays. Pairing them with the most basic of dresses has been my go-to outfit as of late. Minimalism is perfect for hot summer days.
Hope you all have a lovely monday!

Simplicity
01 June 2012
High-waisted vinage denim cut-offs have quickly become a staple in my closet, as they typically do this time of year. Slowly my collection has grown to all shades of the rainbow, and all sorts of prints as well. Been hitting up all the thrift stores I can find and playing edward scissor-hands slashing up jeans the way I like them. I totally recommend looking through the pants section and you'll find true gems that can be cut into adorable shorts in the blink of an eye!
Anyways, it is Friday, hooray! The weather is beautiful and I am going to spend it soaking up the sun. Have a good one.
