November Inspiration Board

 I am truly such an Autumn child. I cannot stop looking up Fall/Winter inspiration so I decided to share some of my favorite picks with you all. Sometime before Christmas I totally plan on renting a cabin upstate and having some relaxing days in beautiful nature. In the meantime a snow storm is headed towards NYC, so I am stocking up on all the tea, coffee and cozy knits in the world. Mother Nature sure isn't giving us a break here on the East Coast, but hey. Might as well make the most of the weather that's given to us!

Outfit // Flower Power

Brr! It sure has been getting quite chilly here in NYC. I've been wrapping up in this cozy Free People sweater and layering up with this wool scarf. Pretty soon just a sweater won't even do here and my coats and jackets will have to come out to play. Right now I am lusting for a floral 60's inspired coat and plan on hitting up all the NYC thrifts/flea markets to find one. Oh this is just the best time of year, isn't it?

Lately

1.) Cozying up in this sweater, basically every single day
2.) Went on a little tour at the Nanette Lepore studio and admired her amazing inspiration board
3.) Hanging out in my room in these comfy socks waiting for hurrican Sandy to pass
4.) Eating these pumpkin spice cupcakes from Little Cupcake Bake Shop in NoLita
5.) Getting my nails painted at Valley Nails in SoHo. Obsessed with these little kitties!
6.) Taking in beautiful street views before the storm hit
7.) Drinking coffee like it's my job.

All-American

Oh boy, can you believe it is November already? I sure can't. Quite fittingly so, yesterday was the very first day I could see my breath in the cold brisk air. I bundled up in my favorite flannel top, cozy cotton skirt, wool coat and to top it off this hand-knit bow from an old friend. One of my favorite fall color palettes is actually a combination of the primary colors, so here I let that be the focus of my outfit. There's something so classic about it. Anyway, the layering possibilities are endless this time of year and I cannot wait to play with my wardrobe and re-mix all my summery clothes to winter.

Hope you all are having a great week and Happy Friday! I am still safe and sound from the storm and I hope all my fellow east-coasters are slowly picking up the pieces who got hit hard by Sandy. Downtown is still a mess and I cannot wait until we can get completely past the damage from the storm. Remember you can always donate to those affected through the Red Cross here.

Curl Confession // What's Behind My Curls

One of the most asked questions I ever receive is how exactly I get the loose waves/curls I always sport. What's behind the way I style my long locks, are these two Paul Mitchell products. First, I use the 'Full Circle Leave-In Treatment', applied to my hair once I get out of the shower, which is great for zapping all frizz. It makes my waves that much easier to deal with! And on a daily basis, my obsession is the 'Twirl Around' which I lightly apply to my hair as I step out the door so it maintains it's shape and most importantly curl. These two guys are what makes up my signature loose waves pictured below:
