Shoe Love // Floral + Leopard

20 September 2012

I recieved these lovely wedges from Nine West as a little goodbye to summer gift the other day and I instantly knew what I was going to pair them with. Floral denim! I have been completely into pattern mixing these days (who isnt't?), and one that I have been dying to test out is leopard and floral. I think it is such a fun take on the trend and leopard has become such a classic it is pretty hard to go wrong with the combination. When trying out this trend, stick with a monochromatic floral pattern to avoid a print-mixing mishap.

What are your favorite prints to mix?

I have the Jessica Simpson version of those wedges (they have ankle straps) and a similar pair of black floral pants from Target. The red flowers on mine are much larger... Hmmm, I'll have to test it out in the mirror. Looks so fun!

Thanks for the inspiration :)

Lovely and trendy combination. Love it. I fell in love with Marc by Marc Jacobs collection (NY Fashion week). He has a real talent for mixing prints and patterns, on outfits and scarves.
All the best,

The floral pattern on dark denim is a pretty one. My favourite would most likely be either a small print pattern of bush roses on a white background for briefs or skirt with a dark background large pattern floral top or vice-versa. I only have two different floral patterned new pairs of full briefs to review but haven't gotten around to reviewing either of them yet on my lingerie review blog "Full Brief Panties". I hadn't considered pairing them with a patterned top. I'd be inclined to start with whichever outfit piece had the smaller selection before deciding which piece to pair it with. I'd purchased a top with a green-range paisley patten but it doesn't look quite right with either of the floral briefs I've purchased so far. Matching different patterns for an outfit post is an interesting concept.

My favorite prints to mix are florals and stripes or even, leopard and stripes. I want to try mixing different prints together but sometimes I get a little worried that they may not look right. Oh well...you can't accomplish without trying!
