Outfit // Lauren Moffatt Love

08 October 2012

Today's outfit is spotlighting one of my favorite designers, Lauren Moffatt. Both the top and skirt are by her, and I must say I am quite smitten with both pieces. All  of her designs are vintage inspired and her A/W 1012 collection is especially lovely, with several mod pieces that I just adore. This skirt I am wearing is the most soft velvet I have ever felt and if you look closely the blouse has teeny tiny clouds all over it. Quirky prints like this are my weakness.

Anyways, I hope you all are having a fantastic Monday! Mine is spent catching up on work (blah), but it's okay because I am sipping a hot coffee and loving this cold NYC Fall day. Now I just wait patiently for all the leaves to catch up with the weather and start changing to beautiful colors.

PS- Thank you all so much for your very kind words in my last post. Your response was over-whelming and I am so happy to have such supportive readers! And if my little story helped at least one of you then I am so happy.

Wow, this skirt is stunning. The rich color and those fantastic pockets really make the skirt stand out. (Are those pockets, or just leather sewn on? Either way, it's gorgeous!) I really like how you went with this soft, flowing top, Id expect to see a skirt like this paired with a chunky sweater but I love the looser top with it! It really balanced the skirt. (And those cute shoes! Loooove.)

I love this outfit: Not sure which I adore more, the skirt or the dotted blouse.

I also wanted to comment on your last post, which I just read. So sorry to hear you were suffering from that level of anxiety, though that's something I understand completely. The times in my life when I was unemployed I was more stressed than any other time because it really messed with my sense of self-worth. I couldn't help but continuously doubt myself. Plus it's really stressful when you have no idea of what's to come and sadly that's something a lot of people just don't get. They think you have to be working 14 hours a day to feel stress. But there's more than one reason why a person can get overwhelmed.

Anyway, glad things have been better for you lately and that you've been prioritizing the things that make you happy and fulfilled.

Love that first photo of you! You're so cute! <3

Also, I meant to comment on your last post - it was so helpful for me to hear! I've just graduated high school this spring and I'm not going to college and I've just felt a bit lost. It was so helpful to hear that I'm not the only one who feels overwhelmed in the "real world." <3

This outfit is so lovely, especially the skirt. I wish I owned it. Also thank you for sharing your story in your last post. I know someone who has really bad anxiety and I myself have it as well, although not as bad and I think your story was really helpful. It makes me realize I'm not the only one who feels the way I feel.

Once again, thanks for sharing.
