Summer Picnic Escape with Walmart

One of my favorite things to do over the Summer is make a beautiful picnic and head

to a park! I've partnered with Walmart to elevate my picnic setup with gorgeous unique and affordable pieces from Walmart Home. My Fitness Routine!

Now more than ever, my at home fitness routine has become a crucial part of my sanity. I'm a firm believer that staying active is medicine for the soul. I have always struggled with anxiety and nothing quite improves it like moving my body. In fact, doctors used to tell me that working out would substansially help with my anxiety struggles. For the longest time I brushed it off, until I found FUN workouts that truly made me happy. Even days into having a solid fitness routine, I saw a major improvement in my anxiety/mood. So seriously for the sake of my mental health, having this routine is SO important.

 I always get questions about what workouts I do from home, how often, equipment I use, and where my outfits are from. So let's get right into it! I am by no means "athletic". Like at ALL, y'all! So beginning was definitely a bit intimidating for me. My best advice is to jump right into it, and find a workout that you truly enjoy. For me, I personally love using apps to guide me. My number 1 favorite it the Peloton app. The cycling classes are such an endorphin booster, and their strength classes keep me toned. They also have yoga, cardio and meditation. Plus it's free for 90 days! I've also used the Sweat app, which I recommend as well. Another tip: Youtube! There are so many free at home workouts on YouTube. 

I typically workout 4-5 times a week. Here is a little break down of what a typical week looks like for me:

Day 1: 20 min cycle, 10 min arms, 10 min abs
Day 2: 30 min cycle, 10 min arms
Day 3: 20 min cycle, 10 min arms, 10 min legs/glutes
Day4: 30 min cycle, 10 min arms
Day 5: 20 min cycle, 10 min arms, 10 min abs

What works for me may not work for you, but I've found a routine that I love and that makes me so happy! I've linked all the equipment I use + outfits below. A cute look isn't essential, but it sure does help me stay motivated!

Everything I Wish I Learned About Plan B One-Step® in Sex Ed

Personal opinions and thoughts within this post are my own. This post was developed in collaboration with Plan B One-Step®. 

Did you know that September is Sexual Health Awareness Month?! 

With that being said, I’m so excited to partner with Plan B One-Step® emergency contraception and

open up a conversation about women’s sexual health—a topic I rarely see discussed on social media. As y’all know, I pride myself on being completely open and honest with you guys, so I’m really excited to partner with Plan B again to share and educate on the importance of always taking control of your reproductive health, no matter the situation. It’s important for me to use my platform to share topics that really matter to me, sexual health being one of them.

Growing up in Texas, I wasn’t exactly well-informed about sexual health, and my teachers definitely did not discuss emergency contraception in our Sex Ed classes. Here’s everything I wish I learned in Sex Ed about emergency contraception, your backup option for when ‘plan a’ fails. 

First of all, we were never told what to do if the condom breaks, if you miss a dose of birth control, or if birth control wasn’t used at all. Not knowing all the facts as a teen and even in my early twenties left me feeling unprepared, which is a super scary feeling when it comes to sexual health.

So, in case you had the same experience as me in your Sex Ed 101 class, I’m here to tell you the facts! Plan B One-Step is an emergency contraceptive that helps prevent pregnancy BEFORE it begins, by delaying ovulation. It should be taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex or birth control failure, the sooner it’s taken, the better it works! Plan B One-Step in no way hurts a woman’s chance of getting pregnant in the future, and also contains the same ingredient that’s used in popular kinds of birth control pills, just at a single, higher dose. Plan B One-Step is available right off the shelf at all major retailers for anyone to purchase, and no prescription or ID is required.

If birth control failure happens, whether I forget to take a pill or have a lack of contraception (which we all agree should not happen!) I know I have a backup plan I can feel confident in thanks to Plan B. 

I’m so excited that I can be a voice and advocate for women so that they too can have that same peace of mind that I have after being educated on all of the ins and outs of Plan B. Everyone should feel empowered in making the decision to take control of their sexual health.

Summer Adventures with Stage

Summer is officially here! One of my favorite things to do in the Texas heat is grab some friends, put on my cutest swimsuit and head to the water. I've partnered with my favorite store, Stage to capture my adventures and special summer moments with the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Instant Camera, as well as celebrate National Camera Day on June 29th! As a blogger, you already know I am all about documenting my adventures. I haven't gone on a trip yet this summer, but I've been spending tons of time with friends around Austin, and I'm so grateful to capture my moments as a tourist in my own city with this Instax Mini. 

On this particular day, I headed down to South Congress street downtown with my friends to hit up my favorite pool at the Austin Motel. I scored this black one-piece from Stage that I absolutely adore. It is so flattering, and I honestly feel like it would look wonderful on any body type. I also saw this adorable flamingo towel, and knew I had to have it for all of my summer swimming adventures. It even matched the decor at the Austin Motel, which worked out quite perfectly. Nothin' but vintage vibes all around, including my mint green instax + macaron colored polaroid film!
