A special guest

20 July 2010

Meet Flashes of Style special guest: my roommate, Ally!
This lovely lady has some great style, and it's
about time her face makes an appearance
here. And after all of the countless (and I
really mean countless) times she has let me borrow
her clothing, I must show some appreciation. Anywho,
here are some things that are on my mind:

1.) I go to Chicago in a day and I have not packed AT ALL. I
need to get on this.
2.) I am ready for the fall. boots, scarves, coats & a
warm coffee cup in my hand.
3.) I need to read something new.
I just finished Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse
Five. A love story would be nice to read now. Any
suggestions?
4.) Inception!! Still must see it.
5.) One more year of college left. O-N-E.

As you can see, my mind is all over. Pardon me
in advance for my lack of blogging during the next
week. I will of course post Chicago pics, but they
may not be as prompt as I'd like. I hope you
all have a lovely rest of the week! <3

wearing: on me- vintage dress, belt, bag; Xhiliration heels
on Ally: f21 top; vintage dooney & burke bag

I love both of your dresses and the soft lighting of those pictures. You're so lucky to have an equally fashionable roommate to borrow clothes from, haha. I hope you have fun in Chicago!

As for the book recommendation, have you read Atonement yet? It's kind of a love story, but mostly not really, lol. It's raw, and that's what I like about it. Otherwise, I really recommend reading The Book Thief. It's narrated by Death. I don't know if that piques your interest at all, lol.

Well if you haven't read Pride and Prejudice yet, read that! But I assume you probably have, haha
WOOOHOOO for being a college senior!! I just finished my senior year :)

These photos are stunning! Your friend is as gorgeous as you, of course. Your clothes and the lighting here are beautiful.

You HAVE to read Hunting and Gathering by Anna Gavalda (and then watch the film). It's translated from the French novel Ensemble C'est Tout and is lovely.

Oh I wish fall would come already. I'm ready as well. Serves me right for buying a leather jacket in June. At least July is almost over.

Yay for Chicago. Visit the big bean thing.

Good luck packing & enjoy your trip to Chicago. Hopefully you can pick some new things in Chicago too.
I don't read love stories, but I just an on a Kazuo Ishiguro kick - he's a British-Japanese author who writes beautifully elegant, dignified novels.
