Classic look

07 August 2010

Trouser pants! I have been wanting them for quite some
time now. The fact that these are high waters and I can
manage to wear them in the dreadful heat makes me that much
happier. I paired it with these stripes to create a simple,
classic look.

On a totally different note... I have found myself
in a music rut! When I reach for my ipod I am
simply at a loss as to what to play. Anyone have any
suggestions? A new indie band I should
check out? An oldie that shouldn't be forgotten? Please,
please, I am all ears!

wearing: thrifted pants & bag; Gap top; CR heels.

I really like this look, especially your pants.

As for music suggestions, my favorites are Rufus Wainwright (especially his Poses album) and this band called Jump, Little Children. Some of my fave songs of theirs: B-13, Cathedrals, Angeldust, Between the Dim and the Dark.

Love your wedges <3
Right now I'm into Muse and Adam and the Ants. I'm going to do a music post tomorrow.

The trousers are amazing and so are the wedges. As far as the music goes, my heart goes out to you: I hate it when that happens to me. I have been listening to Arcade Fire recently and they are really good. If you haven't heard of them yet I strongly recommend you check them out.

I just made a post about my top tens, and here's the list of my top ten albums of 2010:

1. Wintersleep: New Inheritors
2. Holly Miranda: The Magician’s Private Library
3. Free Lance Whales: Weathervanes
4. Fanfarlo EP
5. The National: High Violet
6. Quiet Company: Songs for Staying In
7. Magic Man: Real Life Color
8. Band of Horses: Infinite Arms
9. Suckers: Wild Smile
10. Good Old War: Good Old War

I think that formatted funny...

I also totally agree about Jump Little Children, especially the song Cathedrals. And Magazine, and Close Your Eyes, and All Those Days are Gone...

Your pants look great! Pants are so difficult to find, especially thrifting. They never seem to fit me quite right. I love the heels you wore with your outfit and cute sunglasses!

I'm in a music rut too, bleh. Pretty much why I just stick with old rock.

Oh my, your wedges are AMAZING! I need to wear my new ones more often.

As for music....
Yo La Tengo, XTC, Rancid, The Classic Crime, Boxtops...I have to say I really love Muddy Waters (which is about as American as it can get), never forget about Simon&Garfunkel, T-Rex(Cosmic Dancer = Best Song Ever ♥)
Do you like German Music? I could recommend: Sportfreunde Stiller, Wir Sind Helden, Polarkreis 18(only the song 'Allein Allein'), Nena, Clueso and Gentleman(he sings in English, though).
I love Van Morrison, Sam Phillips and Travis in the fall, too.
Ooops, sorry...I wrote down way too much stuff.

Just found your blog...I admire your ability to wear trouser pants casually...I always feel like I should be on my way to a business meeting or in the window of Banana Republic.

I know they're nothing new, but I can't live without Band of Horses this summer...if you don't already, you should listen to them!
