An Experiment

19 August 2010

I did it! I have had this maxi skirt in my closet
for quite some time. After endless mixing and
matching, I have found a way to incorporate
it in my wardrobe in a way that reflects my style.
Pairing it with dots and a vintage bag seemed
to me that perfect way to do it. It is difficult sometimes
but fun experimenting with new fashions
while remaining true to ones personal style.
But much for fun than difficult :)

wearing: f21 shirt; H&M skirt; thrifted bag; Xhiliration platforms

I really, really love this! The fit of your maxi skirt is perfect and it looks effortless. I'm lusting after your bag too. Haha.

I know what you mean; sometimes I'll pick up a piece that I love, but it doesn't exactly fit seamlessly into my style or the rest of my wardrobe. Usually I just end up not wearing the item, so I'm super impressed that you worked this one in. And it looks so great! You definitely stuck to your own personal style. Love it.

This looks great, I really like the skirt. The look gives off a kind of 50s classy vibe.

The skirt looks great. I've been looking for something similar for most of the summer, but I can't find anything. I might have to start keeping an eye out online, it seems like my local stores have not jumped on the maxi skirt bandwagon.

ANYTHING you wear or style ALWAYS looks good! I hardly think you ever have to worry about incorporating something and it wouldn't look nice.

Your maxi almost looks like you're wearing trousers. :)

I feel you on this. It's always hard to experiment with things that are decidedly beyond your comfort level. I have worn Maxi skirts in the past but that turned out badly, since I'm so short, and I haven't ventured to try one since I was in grade 8 (a good 14-15 years ago!). I'm too nervous about them to try them now. I'm much too petite.

You look amazing, though. Did not realize it was a skirt until I read the post. Thought it was a very Audrey-esque outfit with cropped, close fit trousers. Oh well, still bravo for trying a maxi! I'll live vicariously through you.
